Les stations d’échantillonnage des puits privés sont regroupées par bassin versant afin de respecter les articles 53 et 54 de la loi sur l’accès aux documents des organismes publics et sur la protection des renseignements personnels.

Les résultats obtenus par les différents programmes d’échantillonnage en milieu agricole permettent de mieux orienter les actions prévues par le gouvernement du Québec pour réduire les impacts de l’usage des pesticides. Ainsi, les résultats alimentent les travaux de la Direction des matières dangereuses et des pesticides (DMDP) qui mène des actions conjointes avec le ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) dans le but de réduire et de rationaliser l’utilisation des pesticides au Québec. Les résultats de ce programme permettent aussi de mieux conseiller l’Agence de réglementation de la lutte antiparasitaire (ARLA) qui est l’agence fédérale chargée de l’homologation des pesticides sur les risques environnementaux et de l’usage de certains pesticides déjà homologués.
