Description: Updated once daily (or more) during the fire season.
As wildfire season progresses, analysis is performed to evaluate and communicate the impacts of wildfire on BLM managed lands across the western US. To alleviate the manual process of calculating wildland fire impact, an automated workflow was developed to analyze impacts on a recurrent basis allowing for real-time reporting of standard statistics. This layer is the intersection of the NIFC Open Data Site CY2025 WFIGS Wildland Fire Perimeters (To Date), latest Surface Management Agencies designations, greater sage-grouse habitat, and state boundaries. Only a small amount of attribute fields from the NIFC Open Data WFIGS Wildland Fire Perimeters To Date are kept in this dataset to allow users to view fire information. This layer is used in generating basic statistics associated with burned greater sage-grouse habitat for use in the 'BLM & SG National Fire Dashboard 2025' and its associated Greater Sage Grouse Habitat Burned Base Map - 2025. Any questions or concerns please reach out to the BLM National Operations Center Fire Team.
