Description:

This trailhead database was created in conjunction with the Washington State Trails project. The attributes included for this database were chosen to supplement information found in the Washington State Trails Database so using the two together is recommended.

The trailhead database describes trailheads managed by the US Forest Service within Washington State as well as trailheads within the Olympic National Park. These trailheads were included because they had already been georeferenced and put in a geodatabase. This project did not create new georeferenced points, instead the aim was to create a geodatabase design and insert as many trailheads as possible. The work of the editors was to find attribute information not to edit locations.

The trailhead database is not meant to be viewed as a comprehensive trailhead database for Washington State although this is a possibility in the future.
