Description: FIREDIST displays Fire Taxation Districts in Pima County. Known Errors/Qualifications: Fire taxation districts do not necessarily coincide with fire service areas, e.g. areas that are serviced by the Rural/Metro Corporation are not included in this layer. The City of Tucson does not have a separate fire taxation district and is not included. This layer does not include tribal fire districts. District boundaries may not be exact. Non-taxed Federal, State, or Pima County owned properties are excluded from the following fire district boundaries: Sonoita Elgin, Arivaca,and Helmet Peak. This layer is not get updated until Assesor's data gets updated with the annexation information. Lineage: Updated with linework provided by David Lewis on 11-8-07. New features were traced or appended to the previous layer. Boundaries for the Avra Valley Fire District were obtained from Pinal County GIS. 12/18/08 Heritage Hills, La Canada and Linda Vista combine to become Mountain Vista FD 3/3/09 - 5 parcels added to Tucson Country Club Estates FD 3/24/09 - Fixed the display of Sonoita Elgin FD (inversed) 4/15/09 - Added parcel 401-38-040C to Why FD 6/24/09 - Added Tapestry Properties III to Northwest FD 6/26/09 - Added New Mescal-J6 Fire District 10/7/09 - Added new Arivaca Fire District and updated Golder Ranch 10/13/09 - Added parcel(s) to Tucson, Green Valley, Northwest and Tucson Country Club Estates FDs.
