Data Type: Static. Vintage: July, 2016.
Fire response areas in Jefferson County, Colorado, as used in the Sheriff's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), where polygon attributes contain the fire district, municipality or other agency that is notified in case of a need for fire response.
Fire district boundaries in this fire response layer mirror changes made to district boundaries by the Assessor's Office, and modifications to coverage of areas of "no-man's land" occur per request of the Sheriff's Office. Fire response polygons are manually edited by IT Services to maintain coincidence with inclusions and exclusions per the legal boundary data for fire districts as maintained by the County Assessor's Office.
Areas of "no man's land"- areas where no district (taxing authority), municipality or other agency is officially charged with responsibility for fire response- are noted within this data but have been assigned to a district, municipality or other agency based on mutual agreement by representatives of the various districts, municipalities or other agencies, which occurred as part of a workshop orchestrated by Rocco Snart, then with EOC, circa 2010. However, it is understood that no formal adoption of the "no man's land" designations ever occurred.
Data is in State Plane Grid Coordinates, Colorado Central Zone, NAD83.
