Off-Road paths will be differentiated from sidewalks and routes on roads. Preliminary paths will not be included at this time. Names for paths will be supplied when they are readily available. When not available, it will be the responsibility of the agency with jurisdiction to supply the proper names.Jurisdictions will be collected for each segment of path. County and Forest Preserve jurisdictions will be applied where they are known. It is the responsibility of the individual municipalities or agencies to correct any errors in jurisdiction. Pavement types are included for paths. These types are either collected in the field or interpreted off of the Aerial photo. Off road trails of suitable width, 9’ wide sidewalks, connector sidewalks, signed bike routes, and unsigned bike routes will be included in this inventory. Bike routes will only be included where they are a necessary connection to other major trail networks. Paths will be given a functional classification code, decided on by the analyst, of Local, Collector, or Arterial. These codes will be used for the purpose of displaying the map at different scales. Local paths should only be shown at a Large Scale
