This tectonic map illustrates the geology of Iceland in an innovative manner. Bedrock is classified by age but not type or composition. The map shows the position of volcanic systems, i.e., central volcanoes, dyke and fault swarms and fissure swarms, both active and extinct. The map also outlines fracture zones and bedrock dips.
