Service Description: Land cover metrics provide a method of analyzing tree canopy and other land cover classes at different levels of geographic data. Understanding the spatial distribution of tree canopy helps to form planting plans in areas that are in most need for additional trees. When used as a planning tool, metrics can be very powerful and provide a great deal of information not only about current canopy conditions, but also lead insight to possible canopy goals in the future. This data layer contains information about the percentage of tree canopy along street segments throughout the city.

Description: Using the 2018 tree canopy data, each street segment was assigned to a stree ROW provided by the city. The area of tree canopy was divided by the total ROW street segment to retrieve a tree canopy percentage. Data was then mapped into five classes and added to the UTC report.
