A stationary air monitoring station that measures wind speed and particulate matter within SSFL limits
A comprehensive survey of the Shooting Range (all DUs) with a Trimble GeoXT sub-meter accuracy GPS unit was performed in April 2020, marking each plant or groups of plants with points, or with lines by walking linear (e.g., rock cracks) tarplant occurrences. A follow up survey was performed in May 2022 by similar methods, coordinated and performed by at least one same staff member (Chris Dunn) for consistency, and focused mainly on the DUs now planned for remediation. Some of these occurrences were also mapped with polygons instead of lines or points. The current RAW maps show both data sets combined (i.e., the older data set was retained, not replaced). The recommended buffers in the DUs now planned for remediation and adjacent areas that may be used for access are to be finalized in the field and were drawn via desktop, using high quality drone aerial imagery and topography (e.g., dipping slopes, rock cracks), and field knowledge, by a qualified biologist.
