Description: This is an interim boundary which registers to tracts as of 8/5/2014. Created using dissolve on NRA item in tracts and edited to remove internal sliver polygons and errors related to the incomplete tracts shapefile (currently being developed from assessor parcels). Edited on 5/5/2015 and 5/8/15 to remove erroneous hole in NRA polygon. No official changes have occurred since 2002. All following metadata is copied from NRA_2002: This GIS layer contains the legislated boundary of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA) as of the 2002 boundary expansion. Land within this boundary is NOT all public park land and about 40% of the land within the SMMNRA is privately owned. The data were produced by dissolving the boundaries of the SMMNRA tract ownership map so that only the outer boundaries of the polygons within the SMMNRA boundary remain.
