The streams layer was initially created from coverages produced by L. Robert Kimball and Associates. The streams were digitized based upon 1998 and 1999 aerial photography, at the following scales: 1' = 50' in the city, 1" = 100' or 1" = 200' in the suburbs, and 1" = 400' in the lease dense rural areas. The L. Robert Kimball and Associates stream data contained only the attribute titled "linetype code". The "name" attribute was added by the Berks County Mapping Department once the coverage file was converted to a shapefile. Between 2007-2012, the L. Robert Kimball and Associates data was edited by the Berks County Planning Commission using aerial imagery from April 2004 and Spring of 2008. In 2015-2016, it was updated using 2013 aerial imagery.
