Service Description: Regionally identified PCAs complement local PCA nominations. Unlike the eligibility maps which have high coverage, the regionally-identified PCAs focus more narrowly in areas that are regionally-significant or regionally-connective. The regionally-identified PCA layers will be treated the same as locally nominated PCAs when used for regional planning efforts. This dataset indicates areas that meet the threshold for Regionally-Identified Climate Adaptation (CA) PCAs.
Thedata layer that provides priority areas for the regionally-identified Climate Adaptation PCAs. A subset of the Climate Adaptation indicators was selected and combined to create this layer. The Regionally-Identified layer is the intersection of areas in the region that are at risk of sea level rise inundation, with shoreline ecosystems as defined by the Natural Land Objective 2 and Objective 3 which include marshes, polder management areas, migration spaces, and priority streams, that do not coincide with already urbanized areas.
Regionally-Identified Climate Adaptation PCAs emphasize shoreline marshes, polder management, and migration spaces outside existing urban areas as well as priority streams at risk of sea level rise.
