Service Description: Regionally identified PCAs complement local PCA nominations. Unlike the eligibility maps which have high coverage, the regionally-identified PCAs focus more narrowly in areas that are regionally-significant or regionally-connective. The regionally-identified PCA layers will be treated the same as locally nominated PCAs when used for regional planning efforts. This dataset indicates areas that meet the threshold for Regionally-Identified Natural Land (NL) PCAs.

Description:

The data layer that provides priority areas for the regionally-identified Natural Land PCAs. A subset of the natural land indicators was selected and combined to create this layer. It is an intersection between essential and important habitats with critical habitat linkages or priority streams.

Regionally-Identified Natural Lands PCAs Objectives:

Regionally-Identified Natural Lands PCAs emphasize areas that advance regional biodiversity connectivity by identifying essential habitats that coincide with wildlife corridors as well as priority streams.
