Description: This feature service was produced to identify eligible areas in the San Francisco Bay Region where a nominated Priority Conservation Area (PCA) can be designated as a Urban Greening PCA. The coverage of Urban Greening PCA eligibility is made up of any area that meets any of the four Urban Greening objectives. The minimum standards are inclusive – the goal is not for all eligible areas to be nominated by a local government, but to ensure that data supports the nomination as a Urban Greening PCA. Local nominators are strongly encouraged to use data or outreach to further prioritize nominations. This data was produced as part of the PCA Program Refresh work undertaken by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in 2023-24 using the PCA 2.0 Framework.

This dataset designates areas that meet one or more of the indicators for the four Urban Greening objectives listed below. Data for each indicator threshold was combined to create this layer. The minimum standards represented by this data are inclusive – the goal is not for all eligible areas to be nominated by a local government, but to ensure that data supports the nomination of Urban Greening PCAs. Local nominators are strongly encouraged to use their own data and/or outreach to further prioritize their nomination(s).
