Description: Rural Community Investment Areas (RCIAs) are rural planning areas that arose during the Sustainable Communities Strategy process. They represent areas designated by local jurisdictions where new growth is expected to occur. While RCIAs were not included in Plan Bay Area as priority locations for new development, they will be an important part of creating a long-term sustainable regional growth pattern.
