Service Description: Sarasota County’s land acquisition programs, led by the Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department, have acquired or protected over 40,000 acres of land. By protecting these areas, the county is also protecting the natural storage, filtration, and flow of water, as well as promoting natural cycling of nutrients through the ecosystem.
