Service Description: This administrative boundary represents the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) designated Groundwater Management Areas (GMA). On December 15, 2011 addresses a request by GMA 9 and 10 to adjust boundaries adjacent to Trinity Glen Rose Groundwater Conservation District and Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District. As a result of these changes, the Trinity Glen Rose Groundwater Conservation District and the Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District are entirely within Groundwater Management Area 9.
There was an edit on January 14, 2013 for GMAs 8, 9, and 10 to update boundary conditions with the National Hydrology Dataset.
There was an edit on January 23, 2014 for GMAs 10, 12, 13, and 14 to update boundary conditions. The GMA 10 and 13 boundary was adjusted to Guadalupe County Groundwater Conservation District lines. The GMA 12 and 14 boundary was adjusted to Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District lines. As a result of these changes, the Guadalupe County Groundwater Conservation District is entirely within Groundwater Management Area 13 and the Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District is entirely within Groundwater Management Area 12.
There was an edit on August 26, 2015 for GMAs 2 and 6 to update boundary conditions. The GMA 2 and 6 boundary was adjusted to the Dockum Aquifer in Briscoe and Floyd counties. As a result of this change, Mesquite Groundwater Conservation District is entirely within GMA 6 and slivers of the Seymour Aquifer that were in GMA 2 are now entirely within GMA 6. This change was approved by the TWDB board members on August 26, 2015
GMA's were edited on July 3, 2019 to correctly align with an update to TWDB's County layer.
GMA's were edited on March 11, 2021 to reflect boundary changes to GMA 6 and GMA 8 approved by the TWDB Board on March 10, 2021.
This version was edited on May 21, 2021 to reflect boundary changes to GMA 8, GMA 9, and GMA 10 approved by the TWDB Board on May 19, 2021.
