Description: This dataset represents the Public Ports and Harbors in Alaska. Spatial locations and attribute information were obtained with the assistance of aerial imagery and from the working knowledge of The Statewide Ports and Harbors Engineer. May 10, 2013: Reviewed and corrected spatial accuracy of dataset with imagery and assistance from the Statewide Ports and Harbors Engineer. Total number of Ports and Harbors in dataset is 147. (glremsberg)July 11, 2014: Changed Meyers Chuck Float from DOT&PF owned to Local Government owned (transferred to City & Borough of Wrangell). Split apart the Gustavus Dock & Float into 2 seperate points and owners - Gustavus Dock is still DOT&PF owned and the Gustavus Float is now Local Government owned. Added new point - Naukati Float owned by DOT&PF. Total number of Ports and Harbors in dataset is 149. Added new DOT&PF Regional Boundary containing the Southcoast Region. Total number of Ports and Harbors in dataset is 149. There are 22 that are controlled (owned) by DOT&PF and the remaining 127 controlled by Local Government.
