Description: FEMA floodplain mapping contractors created new floodplains in areas of Approximate Study in West Virginia using automated processes and the latest terrain data. The result is accurate floodplain boundaries (FPB) in Approximate A Zones as well as depth and water surface elevation (WSEL) raster grids. The West Virginia GIS Technical Center (WVGISTC) compiled original countywide data in to statewide depth, WSEL and FPB data layers for use in ArcGIS services as well as the West Virginia Flood Tool.Update 2020-07-29:Advisory Zone A floodplain boundary polygons from 2020-06-15 were clipped to remove areas extending into Preliminary and Effective AE zones.
