Description: The iGrid Generation Hosting Capacity Map included in this document has been prepared and made available to Interconnection Customers in North Carolina and South Carolina by Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (“DEC”) and Duke Energy Progress, LLC (“DEP” and, together with DEC, the “Company” or “Duke”). The Generation Hosting Capacity Map depicts a portion of the distribution system in 1/8th of a square mile areas with color shading to indicate the median capacity within the shaded area.  The capacity value depicts the median generation capacity (solar, battery, etc.) that can be installed in a given location without upgrades to the grid.  Regardless of the depiction on the Map, interconnection of additional generation loads could require significant mitigations, such as specialized inverter settings, direct transfer trip, or infrastructure upgrades.  Duke Energy should be consulted for more specific installation planning as the information provided is high level only and there could be multiple circuits overlapping a given gridded area
