GIS datalayer depicting the unrecognized Southeast Alaska Native communities proposed selections

This information was obtained from the Washington Office Legislative Affairs and proponent as part of a 2020 legislative map request. The source ESRI Shapefile format was exported to ESRI Feature Class and reprojected to NAD83 Alaska State Plane Zone 1 (FIPS 5001) Meters

11/03/2020 Update: Feature class updated by proponent to correct boundary alignment issues, exlude private land and increase acreage.

1/29/2021 Update: The requestor asked us to modify both Heceta Island and Thorne Arm area parcels to avoid existing federal mining claims and contaminated sites near an inactive mine.

2/15/2021 Update: requestor made several additions and deletions to the selection, mainly around existing recreation sites.
