Tree_Species_Hierarchical_Classification__Block_3_WFL1 (FeatureServer)

View In:   Map Viewer

Service Description: This is an object-based classification created using multi-resoultion image segmentation with hierarchical classification for the four primary tree species found in River Ridge Ranch. The layer ordering seen in the contents pane was prioritized based on most significant information allowing the identification and discerning of the various tree species to the least significant. There are five different types of layers which help identify a tree specie(s): Buckeye, Valley Oak, Live Oak, polygons where Live Oak and Blue Oak are equally possible, and finally blue oak. The end result observed on the map portrays this prioritization/final classification which was created from the observed spectral profiles and vegetation indices. In addition, the contents pane includes a merge layer of all used layers for blocks 3 with the removal of tree polygons which had a canopy perimeter over 4 times the canopy area. This is due to the unlikelihood of these polygons being complete trees.
