Description: The layer was created by aggregating the 10-minute grid cells (v3) for the Michigan waters of Lakes Superior, Michigan, and Huron to match existing GIS representations (see maps 4-6 in the 2000 Consent Decree). Whole 10-minute grids from the v3 10-minute grid GIS layer were assigned lake whitefish management units and aggregated using the Dissolve tool in ArcGIS 10.5. Units that are adjacent to the St. Mary’s River (WFS-08, WFH-02, and WFH-03) were clipped to end at the boundary of the St. Mary’s River as described in the 2000 Consent Decree. Great lakes shorelines were updated with the NHDPlus HR polygons. Layer last updated 11/16/2023.
